Event music

Enjoy the wonderful musical groups performing at this year’s event. Something for everyone!

The Gordon Gypsies

The Gordon Gypsies are a quartet of young musicians, from Gordon, Victoria playing a collection of diverse music including Irish, Gypsy-Jazz, Folk and Middle Eastern melodies.

The band formed in early January of 2023 from a group of young musicians who all had one thing in common: their love of Irish music.  Over the past year, they have performed at various markets, festivals, and private events throughout the Shire and surrounds, expanded their set list and even started writing music of their own.  They are inspired by artists such as Loreena McKennit, The Dubliners, and Django Reinhardt.  With violin, guitar, tin whistle, harmonica, bodran and vocals they are sure to get you singing and dancing with their toe-tapping tunes!

You can get dancing to these brilliant young musicians by the Community Bank Daylesford District Kids Corner from 6 pm.

The Vintage Blues Machine

This duo have crafted a sound with influences from the acoustic blues of the 20s & 30s, the early jazz-flavoured blues of the 40s & hints of country swing & finger pickin’ goodness.

These well-dressed cats from Kyneton have crafted a sound that is their own while paying homage to the music that set them alight in the first place. They play a bunch of original tunes mixed in with a handful of well-chosen favourites.

Featuring “el enterrador”, Mr Barry Miller, doing the parts with the sticks and skins and taking care of the things with strings and the bits when someone sings, the Right Royal & Mighty Regal King Maxwell!

You can enjoy their music from 6 pm onwards up by the Chill Out Zone (under a tree outside of Hotel Frangos).

The Daylesford & District Pipe and Drums Band

Talented Piper Chris Sinclair started the Pipe Band over 20 years ago and is very well known around town.  A few of you might also know him for piping in John Farnham’s ‘You’re the Voice’. Chris is a member of The Daylesford & District Pipes and Drums Band.  The members are local to Daylesford but as far reaching as Maldon, with ages ranging from 10 to over 60.  They practice every Wed in the Masonic town hall and love getting new members to the Band.   This brilliant bunch of Piper and Drummers join the Parade and also play a few songs at the conclusion – so stick around for that – it’s a treat!

Daylesford Community Brass Band

Proudly supporting the Daylesford Community for over 150 years this wonderful bunch of Brass Musicians lead the opening of the Parade.  They practice very Monday Night and just moved back into their premise – the Daylesford & District Museum.
